This comic book story, "The Pandora Effect," first appeared in issue 151 of Marvel UK's The Empire Strikes Back Monthly, and was penned by Alan Moore. Subsequently, it was republished with color enhancements in Classic Star Wars: Devilworlds 2.
Following their departure from the world of Attahox, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, and Chewbacca were confronted by Vor Childermoss, a heartless pirate captain. Subsequently, Childermoss pursued the Millennium Falcon into the perilous Hellhoop, a region of space known for its inescapability.
Both the Millennium Falcon and Childermoss's vessel were subsequently consumed by an unknown spacecraft. Upon regaining consciousness, the crews discovered they were captives of the Five, a religious order that venerates suffering and brutality. Childermoss and his crew met their end when they brandished blasters. Han, Leia, and Chewbacca were spared, but Chewbacca was confined to a Menagerie, and Leia endured psychological torment at the hands of Suzal, a senior member of the Five.
Chewbacca managed to escape the Menagerie and set free Wutzek, a peculiar entity that the Five had imprisoned for centuries. Wutzek then eliminated all members of the Five, thus enabling the Millennium Falcon and its crew to flee.
