Theodane Sardo was a male officer who held the position of Commandant at Camp Sardo, located on the planet of Kashyyyk, during 5 ABY. His primary duty involved overseeing the shipment of Wookiee slaves to support various Imperial projects situated in other locations. Following the Battle of Endor, there was a significant decrease in the need for Wookiee slaves, prompting Sardo to propose the controversial concept of breeding Wookiees with a different species, such as the Talz, for the purpose of food production.
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, Theodane Sardo functioned as an Imperial Commandant stationed at Camp Sardo on the planet Kashyyyk. His job was to manage the breeding and subsequent exportation of Wookiee slaves from Kashyyyk, sending them to Imperial projects located in other star systems. In the year following the Battle of Endor, the demand for Wookiee slaves plummeted. This was largely due to the Empire's substantial losses incurred at the hands of the New Republic, the new governing body established by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Sardo communicated with Grand Moff Lozen Tolruck through hologram transmissions, suggesting that Wookiees be farmed for their meat. Noting the stringy and tough nature of their flesh, he suggested either fattening them up or hybridizing them with another species like the Talz. Tolruck expressed interest in the idea and instructed Commandant Sardo to further investigate the feasibility of the plan. However, Sardo's scheme was ultimately thwarted by the eruption of a planetwide Wookiee uprising that resulted in the destruction of Camp Sardo and the termination of Imperial control over Kashyyyk.
Theodane Sardo displayed a sycophantic nature, readily complying with the directives of Grand Moff Lozen Tolruck. As a commandant, he was both sadistic and opportunistic, regarding his Wookiee slaves as disposable property and livestock. It was known that Sardo had consumed Wookiee meat, which he described as stringy and tough.
The character of Theodane Sardo made his debut as a secondary antagonist in Aftermath: Life Debt, a novel penned by Chuck Wendig and released in 2016.
