Thrumfrogs were a species of frog that inhabited the Outer Rim planet of Eriadu during the time of the High Republic Era. In the year 228 BBY, Emelsine Tarkin and Lady Krevlin Tarkin, both members of the Tarkin family, made use of several thrumfrogs. Their goal was to entice Balinta, a veermok belonging to the Tarkin family patriarch Sevran Tarkin, into Krevlin's greenhouse situated in Bri-Phrang City. This was done so they could leverage Balinta to reveal Sevran's recent activities. Subsequently, Qort, a Jedi Knight, arrived at the greenhouse, and Emelsine inquired if he knew the number of thrumfrogs they needed to use to attract the veermok.
Flashbacks in the first issue of the Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone comic miniseries from 2024 featured thrumfrogs. Daniel José Older wrote the issue, which Dark Horse Comics published on October 9, 2024, as part of Phase III of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative.
