The Tof resistance refers to an organized opposition that emerged following the Tofs' loss in the battle of Saijo. This resistance movement stood against the combined forces of the Nagai, the Mandalorians, and the New Republic.

In 4 ABY, the Tofs suffered a defeat at Saijo, leading to the surrender of their invasion's commander, Prince Sereno. Following the Nagai–Tof War's end, the Tofs retreated to their homeworld, a planet called Tof, situated within a satellite galaxy known as Firefist. Despite this retreat, the majority of the Tof fleet successfully made it back home.
Although defeated, the Nagai had secured new allies to aid them in retaking their home planet, still under Tof occupation. The Nagai fleet soon set out to confront the Tofs on Nagi, supported by Fenn Shysa's Mandalorian Protectors. Together, the Nagai and Mandalorians liberated Nagi, effectively placing the Tofs on the defensive.

Following their loss at Saijo, the Tofs established a resistance movement to combat both the Nagai and the Mandalorians. In 5 ABY, the New Republic's military was primarily engaged in fighting the Galactic Empire, preventing them from assisting the Nagai and Mandalorians against the Tofs. This situation shifted when a Tof assassin attempted to assassinate Leia Organa on Noquivzor, located in the Colonies. Recognizing the genuine threat posed by the Tofs, the New Republic finally committed military resources to oppose them.
Simultaneously, Domina Tagge formed an alliance with the Tof resistance. The Tofs provided funding for her quest to acquire the Great Life Jewels, two red gems capable of generating a deadly disease called the Crimson Forever if separated. Both Tagge and the Tof resistance aimed to utilize the gems' destructive potential to bring down the New Republic. However, their plans were ultimately thwarted by a New Republic team dispatched to retrieve the Great Life Jewels, which were stored aboard a derelict Imperial-class Star Destroyer adrift in the Unknown Regions.
