Tooka was a member of the Jedi who served both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the time of the Jedi Civil War. The year 3956 BBY saw two colonists, specifically Calder Nettic and Rickard Lusoff, getting into a drunken argument inside a cantina situated at the spaceport of Garang, which was the capital city located on the Outer Rim planet of Dantooine. According to the Garang authorities, Lusoff claimed Nettic had cheated him out of credits in a business deal, and Tooka was subsequently sent to the cantina to settle the dispute. The Garang archives and the Jedi Enclave both contain records of this event. Later, Nettic was murdered within Dantooine's Ancient Grove by another colonist, Handon Guld. The investigation into this murder was conducted by Jedi Knight Bolook and Revan, a former Sith Lord who had lost his memories and undergone retraining as a Jedi. While at the crime scene, Revan inquired with an information droid about Nettic's relationships, and the droid then accessed information regarding the cantina incident, which included Tooka's involvement.
The 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare, included a reference to Tooka. This reference is found within the dialogue of the optional side quest titled "Murdered Settler," a quest that does not affect the player's alignment. If the player walks across a small bridge inside the Ancient Grove on Dantooine, the quest will always start in a cutscene. The quest can be dropped or refused, and the dialogue can be manipulated to avoid mentioning Tooka. The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia verifies that both men were arrested, confirming the quest's completion.
