During the era of the Old Sith Wars, an android was present on the Outer Rim planet of Dantooine. The Garang Municipal Authorities, along with the Galactic Republic, and the Jedi Order, utilized it as a source of information. Following the destruction of Taris by several weeks, the Jedi Knight Bolook brought the android to the murder site of Calder Nettic. The android aided Bolook and an amnesiac Revan in the process of solving the crime.
During the Jedi Civil War, which pitted the Galactic Republic against Darth Malak's Sith Empire, a droid served on the distant Outer Rim world of Dantooine. The municipal authorities, the Jedi Order, and the Republic all employed it as an analysis droid.
In the year 3956 BBY, a human male colonist by the name of Calder Nettic was killed in the Ancient Grove on the planet, a few weeks after the Sith fleet annihilated the Outer Rim ecumenopolis of Taris. The council of the neighboring Jedi Enclave dispatched Jedi Knight Bolook to the site. Bolook brought an information droid to assist with the investigation, and the two examined the body, collecting blood samples and evidence for analysis. This evidence was then sent to Garang, the capital city of Dantooine. Bolook commenced his inquiry into the murder, detaining two individuals, Handon Guld and Rickard Lusoff, at the scene for questioning.
Hours later, Revan, the former Sith Lord who had lost his memories and was undergoing training to become a Jedi, happened to pass through the grove during his final initiate trial. Bolook, seeing an opportunity to provide Revan with experience, stopped him and requested his assistance with the case. Revan agreed, and the two began investigating together. The droid connected to the archives in the capital and the lab at the enclave to provide support. It could retrieve data on blood samples, weapons, police records, and business transactions, relaying this information to Revan upon request.
After reviewing the evidence and questioning each suspect, Revan came to the unusual conclusion that both men were culpable. Revan discovered that Nettic had been involved in an affair with Guld's wife and had cheated Lusoff in a business transaction. Consequently, they both had reasons to commit the crime. Bolook intervened after noticing that Guld was bleeding from his side. He believed that Guld had confronted Nettic and murdered him, while Lusoff, mistaking Guld for Nettic, had fired from the bushes, hitting Guld in the side. With this information, Bolook formally arrested both men and escorted them to the Enclave's holding facilities to await their trial. The droid accompanied Bolook, leaving the scene, while Revan continued his trial.
The droid's design included reflective metal plating and rudimentary metal limbs. It also featured two blue photoreceptors and a vocabulator that allowed it to speak Galactic Basic. It was capable of communicating with Bolook in Huttese before Revan arrived on the scene.
The droid exhibited a subservient nature, lacking a distinct personality and responding promptly when asked for information. It could remotely access police reports, lab results, and business transactions through archives in both Garang and the Enclave.
