A member of the Qubey species resided on Caliban, a moon located in the Outer Rim, around the time the Clone Wars took place. During the Separatist General Grievous' invasion of Caliban in 22 BBY, it was separated from its parent. The destruction of a lunar ice bridge left it stranded on one side of a deep ravine. Subsequently, it began calling out to other Qubeys, attracting the attention of Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, who Grievous was forcing to rebuild the bridge using his clone troopers. Kenobi then collaborated with the inhabitants of Caliban to defeat Grievous and reunite the Qubey with its family, destroying the rebuilt bridge after all the Qubeys had safely crossed to one side of the chasm.

At the time of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a Qubey made its home on Caliban, its homeworld and a moon in the Outer Rim. When General Grievous of the Separatists invaded Caliban in 22 BBY, the battle resulted in the destruction of the lunar ice bridge, which provided passage across the moon. During the chaos, the Qubey was separated from its parent and other Qubeys, finding itself isolated on one side of the broken bridge with no means of crossing. In its distress, it sought a high point among Caliban's stony cliffs and cried out for its parent across the divide.
Shortly after, Grievous captured Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi of the Republic, along with some of his clone troopers, on Caliban. He then ordered them to rebuild the lunar ice bridge that Separatist forces had previously demolished. As Kenobi's team began reconstruction, the Jedi and his Clone Commander, CC-2224 known as "Cody," encountered the Qubey near their work site. Ignoring Kenobi's warning about the dangerous cliff edge, the Qubey showed the Jedi where other Qubeys were attempting to rejoin it from the opposite side. After a brief discussion between Cody and Kenobi, the latter promised to improve the bridge during reconstruction to help the Caliban native reunite with its family. Overjoyed, the Qubey hugged Kenobi and began speaking to him with excitement.

Later, the group of Qubeys on the far side of the chasm suggested aiding the Jedi in attacking Grievous once the bridge was complete. Kenobi agreed to their plan. After recovering his lightsaber with the assistance of the local natives, he engaged Grievous in a lightsaber duel, eventually trapping the Separatist general beneath an avalanche of snow. Once the Qubey had rejoined its relatives on one side of the rebuilt lunar ice bridge, Kenobi and his troopers departed Caliban aboard a gunship, destroying the bridge to prevent its use by the Separatists. Later that year, while on a mission to the planet Hisseen, Cody recounted the events of the Caliban mission, including their encounter with the Qubey, to his colleagues, Clone Captain CT-7567 known as "Rex," and Clone Commander CC-3636 known as "Wolffe."
The Caliban native was deeply saddened by its separation from its parent following Grievous' destruction of the ice bridge. The Qubey readily embraced Kenobi upon realizing his friendly intentions and willingness to assist, and it also supported its kin's plans to undermine Grievous' control of the moon. It possessed light blue skin, blue eyes, white fur, and a tuft of darker blue fur on its head. The Caliban native communicated using the Qubey language.
While present on Caliban, the Qubey was seen wearing a light blue scarf.
The Qubey made an appearance in a flashback within the fifth issue of the Star Wars Adventures: The Clone Wars – Battle Tales comic-book series. The issue was penned by Michael Moreci and released by IDW Publishing on September 30, 2020. Philip Murphy provided the artwork for the flashback scene featuring the Qubey.
