After some of the sergeant's subordinates were taken out of action, the commanding officer attempted to engage Onyo in direct combat after she relieved him of his weapon, but the officer was ultimately defeated. Once Onyo and the others had left the hangar, the sergeant regained his footing and voiced his negative feelings regarding the bounty hunters present on Garel.

The Imperials then returned fire at everyone, leading to a violent skirmish. During the firefight, several stormtroopers were incapacitated, while the sergeant ascended some crates to gain a superior vantage point. The rebels, with the help of C1-10P, managed to escape aboard a [starship](/article/starship], leaving Onyo to deal with the remaining stormtroopers on her own.
The sergeant, along with his men, surrounded Onyo and demanded her surrender. The bounty hunter responded by using a stormtrooper as a human shield, who was then accidentally shot in the chest by another stormtrooper attempting to target Onyo. Employing her staff in melee combat, the bounty hunter fought her way past the remaining stormtroopers, disarming the sergeant in the process. He gave chase, but she turned and struck him across the head with her staff. After leaping over the last conscious stormtrooper, Onyo made her escape to her personal vessel, the Shadow Caster. The sergeant, along with another stormtrooper, got back on their feet, and after watching Onyo depart the planet in her ship, the commanding officer verbally expressed his disdain for the bounty hunters on Garel.
