Unidentified wounded burglar

A human housebreaker was a member of a band of crooks that obliterated the energy center of a mining station situated on Codia I's satellite while in the process of trying to pilfer a load of precious stones. The destruction of the core resulted in strange emanations that drove the Defel digger Rosack Denahst into a state of uncontrollable rage, and the digger mortally wounded the housebreaker. The injured housebreaker was subsequently found by the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi along with Qui-Gon Jinn but died not long after.

Biography

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn discovered the wounded burglar.

Sometime between the years of 44 BBY and 32 BBY, a human operating as a housebreaker was involved with a group of thieves who were trying to steal a consignment of diamonds from a mining installation located on the planet Codia I's second satellite. The group employed a non-incendiary photonic charge to ruin the fuel rod of the installation's energy center, but the photonic burst had an interaction with the accelerite present in the core, which caused unusual emanations to occur that suppressed the entire light spectrum in the installation. The radiation also sent the Defel digger Rosack Denahst into a fit of madness; after the thieves killed six diggers, Denahst butchered five of the criminals.

After Denahst disemboweled the housebreaker, the housebreaker did not die right away, instead lying wounded near the installation's entrance. The Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, having been dispatched to look into the darkness at the installation, came across him there. The housebreaker, who the Jedi thought was a digger, mumbled something about Denahst's insanity as well as the danger he presented, but he died prior to revealing what he was talking about. Kenobi, who had knelt next to the housebreaker in his final moments, was shocked by the death, but Jinn stayed focused on the mission at hand and assisting any other survivors, simply hoping that the deceased would unify with the Force. The Jedi would later learn of the housebreaker's real job and repaired the energy center, bringing back Denahst's sanity.
