"Unmotivated" is an animated short film and represents the eighth in a series of twelve shorts, all featured in Star Wars Resistance's initial season. The short was made available on the Disney Channel's YouTube platform on December 24, 2018.
Hype Fazon walks into the Office of Acquisitions, accompanied by his astromech droid, named R4-G77. He informs Flix and Orka that he suspects R4's motivator is faulty. The shopkeepers consent to examine the droid. Orka pulls the resistant R4 behind the counter to begin the inspection as Hype expresses his concern that his droid may be damaged. R4 resists the repair attempt by activating a spark projector to defend itself against Flix and Orka. Hype becomes increasingly worried at the counter as the store descends into chaos. Ultimately, Orka leaps onto R4, successfully restraining the droid. Flix remarks that it wasn't particularly challenging, and Orka, drained of energy, agrees with a sarcastic tone before collapsing onto the floor.
