Vandin, a planet, featured at least one floating tibanna gas platform that accommodated tibanna gas miners.
During the Galactic War, the Gilded Star, an enormous treasury ship belonging to the Eternal Empire, was concealed in Vandin's deep atmosphere, effectively hidden from sight and scans. In 3630 BBY, Gault Rennow, a con artist, and his partner Vette devised a heist targeting the Guilded Star. To accomplish this, they enlisted Dretcher, an old associate of Gault's, and a contingent of forces from the Anti-Zakuul Alliance. This group included the Alliance Commander, Lana Beniko, Theron Shan, Senya Tirall, and SCORPIO. The team successfully boarded the ship and installed a missile warhead within the vault. The explosion completely vaporized the vault's precious metal contents, which were then transferred into a tanker before their escape.
Vandin's initial appearance is in Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire, specifically Chapter 13: Profit and Plunder. It subsequently appears as the setting for the Huttball map known as Sky Shredder.
