A Twi'lek female named Vanessa earned her living as a musician, playing at a variety of venues. In the year 0 BBY, she was playing "I'm Feelin' So Low" with the Ortolan musician Maximilian Rebo. This performance occurred inside Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina, a location found on the desert planet Tatooine. However, her set was interrupted when Isabella, a human pilot, shot her musical instrument.
Soon after the destruction of the DS-1 Death Star Mobile Battle Station, Vanessa traveled to the moon called Yavin 4. There, during an afterparty following the Royal Award Ceremony, she performed "Rebel, Let's Go" alongside Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes.
Vanessa made an appearance in Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars. This was a special, non-canon crossover episode with the Disney Channel program Phineas and Ferb. This special first aired on July 26, 2014. Vanessa's character traits and design are based upon those of Vanessa Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb. Olivia Olson provided the voice for the character. While Heinz Doofenshmirtz, Vanessa's father in Phineas and Ferb, has a counterpart in Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars, the two are never shown or implied to be related.
