Varg, a male Clawdite and a former bounty hunter, found employment with Dok-Ondar in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. His role was that of a "fixer." This position put him at odds with the Kendoh Gang when they made an attempt to pilfer from Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities. Varg, utilizing his inherent shapeshifting talent, cleverly disguised himself as Remex Io, another Clawdite who was a member of the gang. This deception proved effective, as he tricked the Aqualish named Wooro into handing over the stolen item, specifically the hilt of the Sword of Khashyun. Subsequently, Varg gave the hilt back to Dok-Ondar.

As a male Clawdite and previous bounty hunter, Varg took a job with the collector Dok-Ondar to be his "fixer" located in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. When Kendoh Voss, along with the Kendoh Gang, arrived in Black Spire Outpost, Varg informed the 709th Legion of stormtroopers belonging to the First Order about one of their members, another Clawdite by the name of Remex Io. Shortly after Io narrowly escaped the 709th, sending them on a wild goose chase to Batuu's spaceport, Varg ambushed him, grabbing him by the neck. Varg strongly suggested that he was aware Io's fellow gang members were planning a heist against his employer. He then used his shapeshifting abilities to transform into Io, knocking him unconscious before impersonating him for a rendezvous with Voss at Oga's Cantina. While Voss met with Hondo Ohnaka to discuss his part in the heist, Varg waited with Wooro, who had no idea that Io was being impersonated. Not knowing the specifics of the heist plan, Varg inquired of Wooro why Voss needed to hire a pilot. When Wooro asked why he didn't remember their plan, Varg gave the cryptic response that it had been a long day.
Upon Voss and Wooro's successful theft of the Sword of Khashyun's hilt, Wooro escaped from Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities and handed the hilt over to Varg, under the mistaken impression that he was Io. Varg then promptly returned to the Den of Antiquities, giving the hilt back to Dok-Ondar.
Varg's initial appearance was in the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park, where his voice was provided by Lucasfilm Story Group member Matt Martin. His first visual representation was in Galaxy's Edge 3, a comic penned by Ethan Sacks, with illustrations by Will Sliney, and released on June 26, 2019.
