Y-wing project

The Y-wing project was considered essential for the Galactic Republic to achieve triumph during the Clone Wars. This project was responsible for the creation of the novel BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter, which became the initial design within the BTL-series of assault starfighter-bombers. During trials at Koensayr Manufacturing's Bormus testing facility, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker put in a request for several of the bombers being evaluated at the site for an assault targeting the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser known as Malevolence. Nevertheless, his demand was denied by Gran Senator Ask Aak, who expressed disapproval of the Jedi for failing to protect his forerunner Aks Moe from an assassination attempt. In spite of this refusal, Skywalker proceeded to commandeer the ships he required, establishing Shadow Squadron with them.
