Yeep

A Teek named Yeep hitched a ride on Tuner Ryna's starship, a space-farer, around 22 BBY. Ryna wasn't certain if "Yeep" was actually the stowaway's name, but she entered him into the "Mobquet Presents: Fastest Land Beings" competition, held annually on the planet of Teyr. Yeep effortlessly secured victory in the event's biped race. Following his win, he was deemed sufficiently sentient to retain his first-place medal, which he then attempted to eat.

Biography

Yopaxtul stood next to Yeep while the latter attempted to eat a medal.

During the final years of the Galactic Republic, there lived a Teek known as Yeep. Around 22 BBY, he appeared unexpectedly on the starship belonging to Tuner Ryna, a space-farer. Although Yeep managed to convey his name to Ryna, the space traveler remained unsure of the exact meaning of "Yeep," speculating that it might refer to his species or even be a term for his chest area.

In that very year, Ryna took Yeep to Pyre Folas, a city situated on the planet of Teyr, and registered him for the annual "Mobquet Presents: Fastest Land Beings" event. Yeep joined the competition's biped race as a last-minute entry, and he clinched victory with ease by displaying a sudden surge of speed, leaving all other contestants far behind. This included Pumav, the Selonian, who, despite winning the quadruped category, finished seventh in the race after Yeep. Due to Yeep's "unknown origins," his win was challenged, but the judges of the event declared him "sufficiently sentient" and presented him with the prestigious biped title, which came with a medal.

Upon receiving his award, Yeep tried to eat the medal. This moment was photographed by HoloNet News, capturing him alongside Pumav and Yopaxtul, a Vratix. The photograph was then featured on the date 13:4:18 in the "Sports" section of the CoCo District Edition of HoloNet News, issue covering the story of how Ryna and Yeep first met, as well as the outcome of the athletic competition.

Personality and traits

Yeep possessed black eyes, skin of a sandy hue, and a fur coat composed of white and grey hair. He struggled to communicate effectively with Tuner Ryna, and his mysterious nature led the judges and spectators of "Mobquet Presents: Fastest Land Beings" to question his sentience. Like others of his kind, Yeep was capable of running at considerable speeds. After his victory in the Mobquet race, he put his medal in his mouth, even though it was neither edible nor a source of food.
