2-1B Delta

Delta, 2-1B, was originally a 2-1B surgical droid in service to the Galactic Empire. His experiences within the military prison network, where he witnessed the effects of Imperial weaponry on living beings, led him to develop a strong revulsion and ultimately to desert. After gaining his freedom, the droid adopted the name "Delta" to signify his independence from the system.

Biography

Industrial Automaton manufactured the 2-1B surgical droid known as 2-1B Delta. This medical droid was one of countless such units utilized by the Galactic Empire, specifically within its network of military prisons. While stationed in the Anoat sector's prison system, the droid eventually escaped Imperial control. Following the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, he adopted the designation Delta and began assisting rebel groups operating in the sector. During this time, Imperial forces imposed the Iron Blockade on the Anoat sector, preventing its inhabitants from discovering the Empire's defeat at Endor and the death of Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine.

Months into the blockade, which ended in 5 ABY, 2-1B Delta joined the crew of the Smuggler, a young individual involved in an Uprising that was taking shape within the sector. The smuggler tasked the medical droid with various assignments throughout the sector.

Characteristics

Standing at a height of 1.77 meters, 2-1B Delta featured gray plating and yellow sensors. His time in the Imperial prison system instilled in him a deep aversion to the damage inflicted on organic tissue by the Empire's weapons, which motivated his escape. He chose the name Delta to demonstrate that he was more than simply another interchangeable worker unit.

Behind the scenes

2-1B Delta was first introduced in Star Wars: Uprising, a mobile game released in 2015 and developed by Kabam.
