The 6-2Aug2 hunting rifle was a slugthrower rifle model found in several homes on less-developed worlds situated in the Outer Rim Territories, for example, on both Saleucami and Tatooine.
This particular slugthrower rifle model had a more traditional design, bearing a visual resemblance to other slugthrowers like the Tusken cycler rifle, and featured an extended barrel that facilitated accurate long-distance shooting. Similar to other rifles, this model required manual reloading.
During the Clone Wars period and shortly thereafter, Suu Lawquane possessed a 6-2Aug2 hunting rifle while living on Saleucami. She utilized the rifle in various situations, including as a safety precaution when a group of Galactic Republic clone troopers, among them the wounded Clone Captain Rex, sought refuge at her husband's Farm. Days later, her husband, Cut Lawquane, also employed the slugthrower to defend his home against droids, aided by Captain Rex. Several years later, she again employed the rifle to ward off a nexu that was attacking a young girl named Omega not long after the rise of the Galactic Empire.
When Savage Opress was under attack by local Junkers, one of them attempted to snipe the unsuspecting Zabrak from the rear using a 6-2Aug2, but Morley intervened by striking the Junker's hip with his tail, causing the Junker to miss the shot.
Luke Skywalker also owned this particular model during his younger years on Tatooine. He brought the rifle with him when he went searching for the runaway droid R2-D2 in his X-34 landspeeder. The rifle met its end when Luke was subsequently ambushed in the Jundland Wastes by the Tusken Raider A'Koba, an event that preceded Skywalker's rescue by Obi-Wan Kenobi.
