The Lawquane family, alternatively referred to as the Lawquanes, consisted of farmers who hailed from the planet of Saleucami. A clone trooper named Cut Lawquane made the decision to desert from the Grand Army of the Republic following his survival of an attack by the Separatist forces on his troop transport during the Clone Wars. This former trooper then integrated into the Lawquane family, marrying Suu Lawquane, a Twi'lek female, and becoming the adoptive father to her children, Shaeeah Lawquane and Jek Lawquane, who were human-Twi'lek hybrids. The Lawquanes abandoned their farm on Saleucami after the Clone Wars, as the Galactic Empire rose to power.

During the last years of the Galactic Republic, the Lawquane family made their home on the planet Saleucami, which is situated in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. Suu Lawquane, a Twi'lek farmer, was the mother of two children, Shaeeah Lawquane and Jek Lawquane, who were hybrids of human and Twi'lek descent. Following the First Battle of Geonosis, a Republic troop transport suffered an attack by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The clone trooper who would later be known as "Cut Lawquane" witnessed the killing of wounded troopers by the Separatists, leading him to desert his post and abandon the Grand Army of the Republic. Having become disillusioned with his previous identity as a soldier, Cut married Suu Lawquane and took on the role of adoptive father to her children.
While he was recuperating at Lawquane's Farm during the Battle of Saleucami, Clone Captain Rex discovered that Cut Lawquane was another clone derived from the Jango Fett template. Despite their differing viewpoints regarding freedom and military duty, the two clones collaborated to defeat a BX-series droid commando team. Rex opted to continue his service to the Republic, but he allowed Cut to remain with his family by choosing not to report his desertion.

Following the Clone Wars, the [Galactic Empire](/article/galactic_empire], which had been newly established, began to solidify its reign across numerous worlds in the galaxy, including Saleucami, where the Lawquanes still resided. Clone Force 99, a squad composed of genetically defective clone renegades, assisted the Lawquanes in escaping their homeworld after it fell under the occupation of clone stormtroopers belonging to the Imperial Military.
Glen Taffral, a farmer who also came from Saleucami, remembered the Lawquanes. Taffral was aware of Cut Lawquane's history as a clone trooper and his decision to prioritize raising a family over participating in the Clone Wars.
