Glen Taffral

Glen Taffral was a male agriculturalist residing on the world of Saleucami. He, along with a female, served as the progenitors of both Dav Taffral, a member of the Alliance to Restore Freedom, and Webb Taffral, who dropped out of the Imperial Military Academy. During a familial supper at their Saleucami abode during 4 ABY, Glen intervened in a dispute between his sons, urging them to prioritize family over allegiance to transient governing bodies. However, upon Webb's revelation that he had already disclosed Dav's location to military forces of the Empire, the father used a handheld energy weapon to incapacitate the former and facilitated his other son's departure.

Biography

Glen Taffral approved of Cut Lawquanes decision to stop fighting and raise a family on Saleucami instead.

Glen Taffral, a gentleman, existed during the time of the Galactic Republic. After a period where he was unsure if he would find a partner, he eventually encountered a lady with whom he settled down. The husbandman sired two male children with her—first Webb Taffral and subsequently his younger sibling Dav Taffral. At one juncture, the female parent passed away, causing Glen considerable sorrow. He later became aware of how Cut Lawquane, a former soldier of the clone army, had established himself on Saleucami to nurture a kin group following his participation in the Clone Conflict, endorsing the man's choice to abandon the war and establish a home. By the time of the Imperial rule, he was living in a dwelling on the world Saleucami, earning a living through agriculture. While Glen opted to remain on Saleucami, his sons pursued divergent paths—Dav aligning himself with the Rebel Alliance to oppose the Galactic Empire, whereas Webb enrolled in an Imperial training facility.

By 4 ABY, Webb had been expelled from the Imperial Academy and had come back to Saleucami to reside with Glen. In that year, Dav—now affiliated with the recently formed New Galactic Republic—came back to his home for a family meal. Glen took his place at the head of the dinner table as they ate, not one of them speaking. However, when Dav requested that a plate of food be given to him, the two brothers started fighting about their different political views as their father watched in silence. As the two began to throw punches, Glen took a bowl of vegetables from the table and threw it at the wall to get their attention.

Glen Taffral held a family dinner on Saleucami.

Glen instructed them to sit down and began to talk about their family's past, including the passing of their mother and his life experiences as an old man. When Webb tried to make fun of his father, he threatened to hit him, making the former say sorry. Glen then explained that, in the end, the side they should be on is family because governments would not last forever. TIE spacecraft came to the Taffral home soon after, stopping their conversation. When Webb reluctantly told Glen and Dav that he had given up his brother's location to Imperial forces, his father quickly incapacitated him with a blaster weapon. After Dav said he believed in his ideals, Glen told the rebel to sneak out the back window and use the fast moving vehicle stored in the homestead's barn to get away. Even though Dav asked what he would do, Glen said that he would trick the Imperials and lie that Dav had shot him. The older man then incapacitated himself, and the rebel quickly ran away as Imperials broke down the home's door.

Personality and traits

Glen Taffral, seeing himself as just a farmer, did not care about the Empire or the Rebel Alliance and thought governments would come and go anyway. The farmer also thought that the New Republic could become just as bad as the old Galactic Republic and did not agree with Dav's revolutionary beliefs. He cared a lot about his family and was sad when his sons' mother died, having been happy to find someone to have a family with. When Dav and Webb fought at their family's dinner, Glen made them listen to him so he could share wisdom he had learned from his long life and did not let the latter make fun of him. By 4 ABY the farmer looked old.

Equipment

Glen Taffral had a home and a barn next to it, which had a speeder bike inside. He also had a blaster, which Dav took with him after the farmer shot himself to help his son get away.
