Dav Taffral was a male who initially joined the Rebel Alliance and later became an integral part of the emerging New Republic. A few months following the pivotal Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Dav journeyed back to the Taffral house on the planet Saleucami for a family dinner. This gathering included his brother, Webb Taffral, a staunch supporter of the Imperial regime, and their father, Glen Taffral. Webb betrayed his brother by revealing his location to Imperial forces, which forced Dav to escape with his father's help soon after TIE fighters appeared above their residence.
Prior to the rebellion on Akiva in 4 ABY, Dav Taffral, a male, enlisted with the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and subsequently became a member of the newly established New Republic. His father, Glen Taffral, worked as a farmer, while his mother had died before the events that took place on Akiva. Dav had an elder brother named Webb Taffral, who resided with their father in the Taffral house on the planet Saleucami.
In that year, some months after the Battle of Endor, Dav made his way back to his family's home on Saleucami for a meal with his father and brother. The atmosphere during the dinner was mostly quiet, only to be interrupted when Dav requested that a food dish be passed to him. Webb, loyal to the Imperial cause, refused and instead insulted Dav for his involvement with the rebels. An argument erupted between the brothers, escalating into a physical fight that was stopped when their father threw a salad bowl against the wall. Glen instructed them to sit down, emphasizing that family should be their priority, as governments are temporary.
Their conversation was cut short by the sound of TIE fighters arriving above their house. Webb reluctantly confessed that he had betrayed Dav by informing Imperial forces of his location. In response, their father quickly used a blaster to stun Webb. Glen then asked Dav to reaffirm his commitment to his cause. After Dav confirmed his beliefs, Glen instructed him to escape through the back window and use the speeder bike located in the barn. Dav inquired about his father's plans, to which Glen replied that he would tell the Imperials that Dav had shot him. Glen then stunned himself, and Dav quickly escaped as Imperials forced their way into the house.
Dav Taffral's physical appearance was slightly leaner and more rugged compared to his brother, Webb. He held a strong belief in the principles of the Rebel Alliance and defended the organization against Webb's accusations of being terrorists. Dav maintained his composure longer than his brother when their conflicting loyalties caused tension, but he was still willing to engage in a physical altercation after a series of heated exchanges. While Glen, their father, feared that the New Republic could become corrupt like the Republic of old, Dav remained optimistic that this would not occur.
Dav Taffral made an appearance in Aftermath, a novel from 2015 penned by Chuck Wendig, which served as the initial book in the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.
