7169 was a B1-series battle droid in service to the Trade Federation's military force, the Droid Army. During the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, this droid was among the deployed forces in the city of Theed. 7169 belonged to a battle droids unit commanded by OOM command battle droid 2163, assigned to protect the Naboo Royal Starship located within the Theed Hangar.
A group spearheaded by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn approached the droids. Jinn aimed to extract Queen Padmé Amidala from the planet using the royal starship. After 2163 gave the order to apprehend Jinn and his companions, the Jedi employed his lightsaber to eliminate 7169 and the other droids.
The designation 7169 belonged to a B1-series battle droid created for the Trade Federation. Serving within the Trade Federation Droid Army, it was included among the battle droids utilized by the Federation to blockade the planet of Naboo due to a trade dispute. The blockade then escalated into a full-blown invasion when 7169 and the rest of the droid army were deployed onto Naboo's surface. This resulted in the Federation's swift capture of the capital city of Theed and the Monarch of Naboo, Queen Padmé Amidala.

Following the city's capture, 7169 was part of a droids contingent under the command of OOM command battle droid 2163, stationed within the Theed Hangar to oversee the Naboo Royal Starship and captured hangar personnel. 7169 was positioned near unit 1933 and 2163 by the starship's entry ramp when a group including the recently freed Amidala, accompanied by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Gungan Jar Jar Binks, approached.
Jinn's intention was to utilize the royal starship to evacuate the queen and her allies. He introduced himself to 2163 as an ambassador of the Galactic Republic, expressing his desire to transport his group to the planet Coruscant. 2163 declined the request and commanded 7169 and the other droids to detain Jinn and his associates. In response, the Jedi Master swiftly unsheathed his lightsaber and destroyed 2163 and 1933 in a single motion, subsequently cutting down 7169 and the remaining droids near the ship.
Like all B1 battle droids, 7169's height was 1.93 meters, and it possessed black sensors along with tan-colored plating. It was armed with an E-5 blaster rifle and equipped with a comlink booster pack displaying the droid's designation in Trade Federation Script.
7169 made its initial appearance in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace from the prequel trilogy. Although the designation 7169 is not spoken within the film, the numbers are visible on the droid's backpack. Furthermore, within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the droid was also identified as 3B3-1204 on a card featured in the 2001 "Theed Palace Limited" expansion for Decipher's Star Wars Customizable Card Game.
