Biography

Capturing Theed

1933 (second droid from the right) stands by 2163 as the latter speaks with Qui-Gon Jinn.

Serving in the Trade Federation's droid army, 1933 was a B1-series battle droid. During the Federation's invasion of the planet Naboo in 32 BBY, this battle droid was put into action. The Viceroy of the corporation, Nute Gunray, deployed it to the planet's surface as part of its droid army. 1933, along with a host of other B1 battle droids under the command of OOM command battle droid 2163, were positioned in the Theed Hangar following the Federation's gained control of the capital city of Theed. Their duty was to guard the Naboo Royal Starship.

The B1 battle droids in the hangar also kept watch over a number of Royal Naboo Security Forces members, including pilots belonging to the Space Fighter Corps. These pilots were grouped on the ground, surrounded by the droids. 1933 stood with 2163 and three other B1 units, including 7169, next to the boarding ramp of the starship while the Federation held the pilots captive. However, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, entered the hangar, leading Queen Padmé Amidala of Naboo and her entourage, which included her handmaidens, Captain Quarsh Panaka, Jar Jar Binks the Gungan outcast, and a number of Palace Guards.

Beheaded by a Jedi

1933 and 2163 are destroyed by Qui-Gon Jinn.

As the Jedi approached, Jinn moved steadily toward 1933 and the other droids, causing the battle droids to experience a brief moment of uncertainty as they moved into position. 2163 told the Jedi Master to stop as Jinn got closer to the droids. Jinn, after being stopped, informed the droid that he was an ambassador representing Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum of the Galactic Republic and that he intended to take the queen and her entourage to Coruscant, the Republic's capital planet. 2163, unable to comprehend the response, gave the order to apprehend Jinn and his companions.

However, before the droids could follow through with their orders and raise their blasters, Jinn ignited his lightsaber and bisected 2163 with a single strike, simultaneously beheading 1933. While the remaining battle droids were destroyed, Kenobi freed the captured pilots and security personnel. The Jedi, the queen, and their allies then boarded the Royal Starship, which they used to leave the occupied city and planet.
