Attack on the Hyborean Moon

One month before the liberation of Kashyyyk, forces of the New Republic attacked the Imperial-held Hyborean Moon, destroying the ISB's blacksite prison as well as its civilian complexes.

Prelude

During the Age of the Empire, the Hyborean Moon was the site of an Imperial black-site prison. The Imperial Security Bureau Agent Romwell Krass Junior regarded the Hyborean Moon as a cushy posting for his family. Krass and his family lived in a comfortable home on the shore of a hot spring lake. He also arranged for his cronies to be transferred there.

The Attack

Following the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance became the New Republic. The New Republic dispatched a fleet to attack the Imperial presence on the Hyborean Moon. Krass' family was killed when New Republic starships bombed the civilian structures. Krass barely managed to escaped on a starship as rebel forces stormed the prison.

Aftermath

For a month, Romwell Krass Junior drifted through space grieving the loss of his family. He also became an alcoholic and took to drinking. Instead of reporting for duty to the Imperial capital of Coruscant, Krass traveled to Maz Kanata's castle on the planet Takodana. There, he became involved in a fight with a New Republic pilot. The fight was broken up by Maz Kanata's droid ME-8D9 who locked the two belligerents in Maz's dungeons. Maz allowed the two belligerents to leave but advised Krass to make peace with his grief.

Behind the scenes

The Attack on the Hyborean Moon was mentioned in passing in Chuck Wendig's 2016 novel Aftermath: Life Debt, the second book in The Aftermath Trilogy.
