Jedi Academy PC

The Jedi Knight series of video games introduced the characters Kyle Katarn, a Jedi Master, and his apprentice, Jaden Korr. A video game constitutes any interactive gaming software played on a gaming console, or a computer game where the primary feedback mechanism is a video display. ## Video Game Categories - First-person shooter (FPS) games, also known as video or computer games, present the game world from the perspective of the player character. These games frequently involve firearms and other weapons used in combat. Star Wars: Dark Forces and its subsequent releases are examples of FPS games, as is Star Wars: Republic Commando. For more examples, see Category:First-person shooters. - Flight simulators place the player in the role of a pilot, controlling either an aircraft or a spacecraft against enemies or challenges. The X-wing and TIE Fighter series, the Rogue Squadron series, the Starfighter series, and Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed all fall into the category of flight simulators. - Real-time strategy (RTS) games are typically computer-based, providing players with a top-down view of multiple characters. In RTS games, players generally command various groups of characters without directly engaging in combat themselves. Examples of RTS games include Star Wars: Rebellion, Star Wars: Force Commander, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, and Star Wars: Empire at War. - Role-playing games (RPGs), whether video or computer-based, allow players to view their characters from a third-person perspective and make choices that ultimately influence the game's narrative. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords are examples of RPGs. They share similarities with tabletop roleplaying games. - Massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) are online games that allow players to embody characters and interact with one another on a grand scale. These games often feature diverse environments and numerous non-player characters (NPCs) to enhance the sense of realism. Examples include Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. ## Star Wars Games Listed Chronologically by Release Date ### 1980s #### 1982 - Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back holds the distinction of being the inaugural Star Wars video game.
