A species of low growing weed was found on the planet of Lok. After the Battle of Yavin, during the Galactic Civil War, Nym, the leader of the Lok Revenants, ordered Ran Machado to oversee the removal of unintended foliage from Nym's Stronghold. The latter therefore recruited a spacer to pull up some low growing weeds and other kinds of Lokkian weeds in the city. After succeeding in the mission, the spacer used the extra weed to feed the kusaks guarding the city: Runt, Bedhead, Blinky, Scarecrow, Slobbers, Troubles, Wart Face, Gargle, Ding and Speedbump.
Low growing weeds appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. Low growing weeds were originally present as random flora on the planet Lok upon the first release of the game. The plant was later included in a quest of the revamped "Nym's Theme Park," released with the "Game Update 16," on March 23, 2010.
