Station Zeta, also known as Zeta, was a space station operational during the time of the Galactic Republic. The station was used as neutral ground for negotiations between the Plinovian and Solodoe species over the terraforming of the planet Plin Minor, with assistance from the Jedi Order.
The talks lasted six months without a resolution before the Jedi diplomat Arath Tarrex stole the mythra seal of office of the Solodoe ambassador Ketas in order to cover his gambling debts; Ketas accused the Plinovian ambassador of stealing the seal, and the gaseous Plinovian self-combusted from being riled. Jedi Master Dooku, Jedi Knight Rael Averross, and the Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn were able to reveal Tarrex as the culprit and recover the seal, though the negotiations had already been ruined.
Station Zeta, also simply known as Zeta, was a space station. A waystation, Zeta was able to host the presence of starships.
Operational during the time of the Galactic Republic, Station Zeta was utilized as the site for a summit between the Plinovians and the Solodoe, two sentient species. Both species had claims over the planet Plin Minor, with the Solodoe wishing to terraform the planet—a process that would destroy much of the Plinovians' natural habitat. Station Zeta was selected due to its status as neutral ground for talks between the Solodoe ambassador, Ketas, and the Plinovian ambassador, despite Ketas' wish for the negotiations to take place on Plin. The Jedi Order were sent to assist in the summit, assigning Jedi Knight Rael Averross and Diplomat Arath Tarrex to the station.
During his time aboard Station Zeta, Tarrex, a gambling addict, became indebted to the Chance Encounters casino. Six months into the negotiations, with no conclusion having been reached, Tarrex stole the valuable mythra seal of office of Ambassador Ketas from aboard his cruiser, the Luster. Ketas subsequently accused the Plinovian ambassador of stealing the seal, and the aggravated gaseous being self-combusted, causing an explosion aboard the station and injuring the Solodoe ambassador. Though the Solodoe security chief, Tanu, discovered Tarrex to be the culprit, the Jedi diplomat used the Force to make him clear the security records and then erased his memory of doing so. Averross, along with Jedi Master Dooku and his Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn, who were passing through Zeta at the time of the incident, attempted to ascertain the truth behind what had happened while Tarrex was assigned to handle the cleanup.
Though Ketas wished to depart Station Zeta, abandoning the talks and continuing with terraforming, the Jedi spoke with Tanu, learning of the record deletion and the gap in his memories. Suspecting Tarrex and having learned that Tanu had played sabacc at the casino, the Jedi had Jinn investigate. Jinn encountered Tarrex in the lower levels as the Jedi diplomat was fending off an enforcer droid that had been sent to collect his debt. The Padawan proposed joining Tarrex for a game of sabacc; while the latter did not wish to get Jinn into the casino, he offered to set up a game in his quarters within Station Zeta.
When Jinn arrived for the supposed game, he was followed by Dooku and Averross, who accused Tarrex of stealing the seal. Though Tarrex denied the crime, the Jedi located the seal, confirming his guilt. Averross contacted Master Yula Braylon, who ordered Dooku to bring Tarrex back to the Jedi on the planet Coruscant. Braylon requested that Averross return the seal and attempt to salvage the situation, though suspected that neither species would trust the Jedi and that the ruined negotiations would need to be handed over to the Republic.
Station Zeta had a number of levels; level twenty was one of the lower levels, containing the casino Chance Encounters. The station additionally had quarters in which visitors could stay, as well as conference rooms, which also contained a terminal.
Station Zeta first appeared within a flashback scene in the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, written by Cavan Scott and released on April 30, 2019. The exact spelling of its name was provided in the script of Dooku: Jedi Lost, published on October 1 of that year.
