A prisoner, identified as male, was incarcerated within the Galactic Empire's prison situated on the moon known as Narkina 5. This inmate was tasked with the production of machinery destined for the Empire. As 5 BBY marked the completion of his sentence, rather than being granted freedom, he was instead relocated to a different level of the same facility on the subsequent day. News of this transfer circulated among their new unit, prompting the Imperial staff to order the death of the entire unit. Despite this, the information spread to other units, ultimately triggering an uprising by one unit shift, resulting in the liberation of all prisoners.

During the Imperial Era's duration, a male individual was serving time at the Imperial prison facility located on the moon Narkina 5. Within the prison, the inmates were responsible for managing an assembly line creating intricate machinery. This machinery was intended for use in constructing the Empire's secret superweapon, specifically the Death Star. The Imperial prisoner's assignment was on Level 4 of the facility until his sentence concluded sometime during 5 BBY. However, instead of being released, he was moved to unit two-five on Level 2 on the following day, a mistake committed by the Imperial personnel.
The word about the prisoner's transfer quickly spread throughout unit two-five. Consequently, during a shift change between the day and night shifts, the Imperial commanders ordered the death of the whole unit, inclusive of the prisoner, via electrocution using the conductive tunqstoid steel floors. At that time, the shift changes of the other units were postponed because of the incident. Inmates then used sign language to spread the word that something was happening on Level 2. The execution created a brief power disruption throughout the prison during the delay, and word regarding the fatalities soon followed. A maintenance technician informed the floor manager Zinska about the deaths.

Doctor Rhasiv, the inmate medical technician, became aware of the Empire's error and the subsequent massacre. He then relayed this information to floor manager Kino Loy and inmate Cassian Andor on Level 5. Understanding the implications that they would never be released, the pair spearheaded their unit shift in an uprising against the Imperial staff. They successfully seized control of the command center and freed the remaining prisoners within the facility.
The Imperial prisoner was initially mentioned in "Nobody's Listening!," which is the ninth episode of Andor's first season, a live-action series from Disney+. It was broadcast on November 2, 2022.
