RTK111 existed as a lawless world situated within the Outer Rim Territories, a planet known for its lack of order. Within this world was a city that housed a warehouse district, where the native Abyssin gangster named Gor Koresh operated his illicit gladiator arena, known as Gor Koresh's Honky Tonk. In the year 9 ABY, the bounty hunter Din Djarin, accompanied by the alien youngling Grogu, made their way to this arena with the intention of meeting Koresh. The gangster then attempted to coerce Djarin into relinquishing his prized Mandalorian armor, which resulted in a confrontation. Djarin then strung Koresh up from a streetlight outside the arena, leaving him to the mercy of the local wild dog population.
RTK111 was a terrestrial planet that could be found in sector S-14 of the Standard Galactic Grid, a part of both the Outer Rim Territories and the Slice. The city on this world was characterized by hot air and a considerable population of wild dogs.
In 9 ABY, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and the alien youngling Grogu journeyed to a city located on RTK111 to find the Abyssin gangster Gor Koresh, with Djarin hoping that Koresh could aid him in locating other Mandalorians. As night fell, Djarin, with Grogu in his hovering pram, navigated a dark alley within the city's warehouse district to reach the illegal gladiator venue, Gor Koresh's Honky Tonk. There, they encountered Koresh amidst a fight between two Gamorrean gladiators.
However, instead of offering assistance, Koresh tried to force Djarin to give up his valuable Mandalorian armor, which resulted in the bounty hunter defeating the gangster's associates and pursuing the Abyssin into the alleyway. Djarin then suspended Koresh upside down from a streetlight, and after extracting the information he sought, he abandoned the gangster to the mercy of the local wild dogs before departing RTK111.
RTK111, a world devoid of law, was the homeworld of the Abyssin gangster Gor Koresh. People of various species from across the galaxy frequented the illegal gladiator fights at Gor Koresh's Honky Tonk, which was managed by the gangster.
The setting that would later be known as RTK111 was initially seen in "Chapter 9: The Marshal," the initial episode of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian's second season. This episode was broadcast on October 30, 2020. The concept supervisors Christian Alzmann and Erik Tiemens, along with concept artist Khang Le, created concept art showcasing the episode's external views of this location. Prior to its appearance in "Chapter 9: The Marshal," the location was previewed in a trailer for The Mandalorian Season Two, which was posted on the official Star Wars YouTube channel on September 15, 2020.
JAKe's article "The Force of Beats and Rhymes" in the March 30, 2021 201st issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine identified the location as a planet but incorrectly named it "Koresh." The 2023 reference book Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide by Pablo Hidalgo and Emily Shkoukani later introduced the celestial body "RTK111," and finally the 2024 Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy retroactively confirmed that the name referred to the planet initially depicted in "Chapter 9: The Marshal."
