An A-A4B truckspeeder

The A-A4B truckspeeder from Trast was a favored cargo speeder for short-distance hauls, commonly employed by smaller enterprises for localized deliveries. This vehicle, characterized by its squared-off design, featured an elongated, slender, rectangular front section that housed the robust and loud T-RA950 MagnaDrive engine. Situated at the rear of this section was the cockpit, positioned in front of a larger, fortified cargo container at the back. The cargo container, as manufactured, came equipped with a reinforced single door and an extendable ramp. Options included a hydraulic lift for handling weighty goods, smaller, lockable side doors, and even protective armor for the cargo. The cargo area also incorporated a modular system for managing cargo, designed to efficiently organize pallets, boxes, or loose items, thus streamlining the loading and unloading processes. The cargo section could also accommodate passengers.

The A-A4B proved itself as a superb cargo truck for short distances, gaining popularity with smugglers, criminal organizations, and others seeking to transport significant quantities of valuable goods with some discretion. Noted for its robustness and decent speed, the vehicle, which resembled a tank, offered considerable capacity. Furthermore, it was readily customizable, providing ample space within its structure for concealed compartments, deployable weaponry, battering rams, shield generators, and other less-than-legal modifications.

History

While in the service of Lady Proxima on Corellia, the Grindalid gangster Moloch possessed a modified A-A4B. Due to his species's sensitivity to light, this henchman would wear protective gear and use his truckspeeder for transportation during his business dealings on the planet's surface. Moloch utilized his truckspeeder in an attempt to capture Han and Qi'ra after the scrumrats made off with a vial of coaxium. He impacted Han's stolen M-68 landspeeder, but was unable to force them off the roadways leading to the Coronet Spaceport, and then continued the pursuit on foot alongside his Corellian hounds.

Behind the scenes

According to The Art of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the Baja desert-racing trophy trucks, known for their powerful engines and suspensions, served as an initial inspiration for the design of the A-A4B.
