A Tarlafar named Ailish, the mother of Bayrn, a Force-sensitive baby, resided with her son in a city nestled in the mountains of the planet Caraad. After onlookers noticed her son using the Force to hurl a pot while they were shopping, Ailish swiftly brought him back home. However, an Aqualish neighbor reported the child due to the Galactic Empire's bounty on Force-sensitive younglings. Subsequently, the bounty hunter Cad Bane appeared at Ailish's residence and stunned her before abducting Bayrn.

Ailish, a Tarlafar female, served as the mother to Bayrn, a Force-sensitive infant. Around 18 BBY, they both made their home in a mountain city located on the planet Caraad. Ailish wished that she and her extraordinary child could avoid the harsh realities of the galaxy in that place, but gossip began to circulate about Bayrn potentially being either gifted or cursed. While they were out shopping along one of the city's market streets, Ailish carried her son over to a flower stand, placing him on a nearby crate with his doll. She stroked his head and then left him to play as she spoke with the vendor. Bayrn started tossing his doll into the air and catching it before he inadvertently threw it into some pots.
While Ailish was still occupied, Bayrn climbed down from the crate and crawled over to retrieve his doll, unintentionally using the Force to send a pot flying through the air as he did. An Arcona and a human who were nearby witnessed this, and they identified Bayrn as the one who threw the pot when an angry Aqualish demanded to know who was responsible. As the Aqualish dismissed the idea that an infant could have lifted the pot, Ailish noticed the commotion and rushed over to pick up Bayrn, who had started to cry. After apologizing to the trio discussing the incident, she carried Bayrn away and returned to their residence. Having overheard the [Arcona](/article/arcona] speaking more about Bayrn's apparent powers, the Aqualish watched the mother enter her home with interest and later reported the child from his neighboring apartment, because the Galactic Empire was offering a bounty for Force-sensitive children.
Following the Aqualish's information, the bounty hunter Cad Bane and his droid Todo 360 tracked down Ailish's residence one night. The mother was on the couch in the apartment, playing with Bayrn and his doll, giving him a snack, and tickling him, when she heard Bane's footsteps outside. Noticing his shadow passing beneath the apartment's door, Ailish moved Bayrn from a table to the couch, positioning him slightly further from the door. She frowned as she moved toward the entryway. Concerned, she glanced back at her child as Bane's shadow reappeared beneath the door, causing Ailish to grab a shovel for protection.

However, when the door suddenly swung open, Ailish barely had time to gasp before Bane stunned her, causing her to drop the shovel and fall to the floor. While she was unconscious, Todo verified that Bayrn was Force-sensitive through a blood test and then departed with Bane and the infant to deliver Bayrn to the Empire, with Bane compensating the Aqualish for the tip. The Empire imprisoned Bayrn as a test subject in a base on Mount Tantiss located on the planet Wayland. Bayrn was later rescued from Tantiss Base by Clone Force 99, who took him and other child test subjects that had been held there to the planet Pabu with the goal of finding their parents and reuniting them with the children.
Ailish wore a matching shawl and dress featuring a geometric pattern in purple, brown, blue, and white, along with a brown collar.
Shelby Young lent her voice to Ailish, and also Bayrn, in "Identity Crisis," the tenth episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch's third season, which premiered on April 3, 2024. Although the character's name was included in the episode's credits, it was unclear which character it belonged to until Young posted on X about the characters later that day.
