Amber Wing was a fighter wing composed of BTL Y-wing starfighters. This wing fought for the Alliance to Restore the Republic on Vrogas Vas throughout the Galactic Civil War against the forces of the Galactic Empire, and it participated in the Battle of Vrogas Vas.
During the events of 0 ABY, Darth Vader found himself stranded on the planet of Vrogas Vas during a battle against Rebel Alliance combatants. Leia Organa, a commander within the Rebel forces, gave the order for numerous Rebel forces to confront him. After Vader overcame the troops and advanced towards Organa, she commanded the BTL Y-wing starfighters of Amber Wing to unleash a barrage upon her position, hoping to kill Vader. However, Amber Wing was prevented from executing these orders when they came under attack by a TIE fighter squadron led by Karbin, an Imperial commander.
Amber Wing made its debut appearance in Darth Vader (2015) 14. This issue was the fourth part of Star Wars: Vader Down, a comic book crossover event. Vader Down, Part IV was penned by Kieron Gillen, with illustrations by Salvador Larroca, and it was released on December 23, 2015.
