Apostate (religion)

ByeByeBaby-TMCh16 Din Djarin, in contradiction of his Mandalorian Code, reveals his visage to Grogu, thereby becoming an outcast from the principles upheld by the Children of the Watch. An apostate was defined as a member of a religious organization who faced expulsion due to violations of their faith's doctrines. The Sorcerers of Tund banished those who embraced the dark side of the Force, labeling them as apostates. One such apostate sorcerer perpetrated an assault and massacre upon a village located on Kiffar, which resulted in profound disgrace for the remaining members of his Order. A Mandalorian belonging to the Children of the Watch who transgressed against the Mandalorian Creed was considered an apostate. According to the Creed, redemption is attainable only within the Living Waters situated beneath the mines of Mandalore. The Mandalorian named Din Djarin removed his helmet, leading to his classification as an apostate by both Paz Vizsla and The Armorer. Djarin himself also acknowledged his apostate status, although Greef Karga, the Magistrate of Nevarro, assured him that he would not be regarded as an apostate on Nevarro and could be considered gentry.

Djarin embarked on a mission to the Living Waters to nullify his decree of exile. Following his capture within the ruins of Sundari by a Spider Tank, he was rescued by Bo-Katan Kryze, who subsequently aided him in undergoing a cleansing bath in the Living Waters. Subsequently, they made their way back to the covert and presented evidence obtained from the Living Waters to the Armorer, who then affirmed their redemption, declaring them to be no longer apostates.
