Ark Angel IV
The Ark Angel IV was a starship in the possession of the renegade archaeologist Doctor Chelli Aphra. Originally constructed during the time of the High Republic, it was found abandoned on the planet Dianth, where it sat until the Imperial Era. Following the destruction of Aphra's previous vessel, the Ark Angel III, by the fleet commanded by House of Tagge member Ronen Tagge on Dianth, the High Republic ship was discovered by Aphra's associate, the bounty hunter Krrsantan. Aphra's team boarded the ship and determined it was still operational. After piloting it to Cantonica, where Tagge was located, Aphra drew the attention of Tagge's fleet, who began to chase her. Tagge's forces damaged the main thruster of the ship, leading Aphra to allow them to board. The damaged High Republic ship was landed on Cantonica alongside one of Tagge's vessels, and Tagge took Aphra's crew prisoner. While Aphra and her crew were taken to Tagge's Canto Bight penthouse, the starship was left on an exterior landing pad. After Tagge was defeated, Aphra and her allies escaped using the starship, which they then named Ark Angel IV.
Behind the scenes
The fourth issue of the Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comic series from 2020 marked the debut of the Ark Angel IV. Alyssa Wong wrote the issue, Marika Cresta provided the illustrations, and Marvel Comics published it on September 30 of that year. Wong established its name in the following issue, which was released on October 28, 2020. The twenty-second issue of the series, released on July 27, 2022, mistakenly called the ship the Ark Angel V.
