During the Galactic Civil War, specifically in 3 ABY as part of Operation Ringbreaker, the 61st Mobile Infantry of the Rebel Alliance initiated an attack against the dockyards situated on Najan-Rovi. These dockyards served as a haven for Imperial luxury transports. The attacking force consisted of the CR90 corvette named Thunderstrike, accompanied by its escort, the Braha'tok-class gunship known as Apailana's Promise, along with a pair of X-wing starfighters. The dockyards were captured in under a day, with the 61st suffering zero casualties, leaving behind a scene of devastation with nearly one hundred luxury transports ablaze.
As part of Operation Ringbreaker in 3 ABY, Twilight Company executed its initial raid on Mardona III. The dockyards there experienced significant damage, as the company strategically placed mines throughout the tunnel network.
Thunderstrike deployed drop ships carrying strike teams to the dockyards situated on the gas giant. The dockyards, lacking a dedicated Stormtrooper presence, relied on Imperial Navy troopers for defense. These troopers were caught off guard by the rebel assault and were quickly defeated. The dockyards became engulfed in flames, resulting in the destruction of almost one hundred Imperial luxury transports and light freighters.
The Company made a jump to hyperspace to retreat, and the troops celebrated their victory. Although no lives were lost, several troopers sustained injuries, and exhaustion had taken its toll. This would have consequences for the Company in their subsequent engagement. The destroyed transports, originally manufactured on Corellia and stored on Mardona III, were intended for high-ranking Imperial officers serving on the Imperial Ruling Council. Their destruction would compel Corellia to increase production, diverting resources away from Kuat.
The attack on the dockyards of Najan-Rovi was first depicted in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, authored by Alexander Freed.
