Ax Tagrin

Ax Tagrin was a male Iktotchi individual who worked as a bounty hunter. He was active during the period known as the First Order-Resistance War. During this conflict, Tagrin secured employment from the First Order by apprehending members of the Resistance, a decision motivated by his belief in aligning himself with the faction destined for victory.

Biography

During the war that pitted the Resistance against the First Order, the Iktotchi bounty hunter known as Ax Tagrin embarked on a mission to capture Resistance spy Norath Kev along with his droid companion, 2BR-NTB. This pursuit was initiated following a tip-off from Lechee, a First Order contact involved in transporting shipments and resources through the clandestine channels of the black market. The chase culminated in Vargo Spaceport on Varkana, where the spy was ultimately apprehended, and 2BR-NTB was destroyed. Leeche subsequently informed Tagrin that captured members of Team Colossus fellow Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono, Jarek Yeager, Synara San, and Xiono's droid CB-23 were in Kev's apartment but they manage to destroy Kev's datapad and escape. Later, within the confines of the same spaceport, Tagrin successfully ensnared the majority of them by trapping them aboard his vessel, the Dalkor Dagger.

Ax Tagrin

Due to CB-23's act of sabotaging one of the ship's engines, the Dalkor Dagger experienced a crash landing back onto Varkana before Tagrin could deliver his prisoners to the First Order. As the Resistance members attempted to escape, Kev and Xiono made their getaway on a speeder bike, while San, Yeager, and CB-23 were captured by Tagrin. Tagrin presented them to Commander [Pyre](/article/pyre], but he was denied his credits due to the continued freedom of two agents.

Determined to apprehend the spies, Tagrin eventually identified Kev and Xiono disguised as stormtroopers. He overheard Xiono mentioning his shuttle parked outside the spaceport. After locating Xiono's shuttle, Tagrin infiltrated the vessel and employed signal-tracing techniques to pinpoint the location of the Colossus, which was concealed within a nearby gas giant. This information was intended for the First Order, with the ultimate goal of securing his customary bounty. Meanwhile, Xiono and Kev facilitated the escape of Yeager and San and returned to his shuttle, where Tagrin was hiding in the back. As Xiono and Kev initiated the shuttle's startup sequence, Tagrin revealed himself and launched an ambush. He nearly succeeded in capturing Xiono and Kev, but with the assistance of CB-23, they neutralized Tagrin and fled Varkana.

Skills and abilities

Tagrin possessed considerable skills as a bounty hunter. He demonstrated proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, successfully overpowering Synara San, a skilled pirate. Tagrin engaged in combat with both San and Yeager. Despite their combined efforts, they were unable to overcome Tagrin's strength and resilience.

Equipment

Ax Tagrin was equipped with customized armor, featuring a detachable faceplate and a range of equipment, including a C1 personal comlink, a flash grenade, and a homing beacon capable of intercepting distant conversations. He also commanded a ship known as the Dalkor Dagger. This vessel was heavily reinforced and boasted an impressive array of weaponry. However, the ship was vulnerable from within, as demonstrated by CB-23's successful sabotage. Tagrin wielded a vibro-ax equipped with an extendable arm. Additionally, he carried a double-barreled blaster pistol designed for two-handed use.

Behind the scenes

Ax Tagrin made his debut in "The Missing Agent," an episode from the second season of Star Wars Resistance, with Joe Manganiello providing the character's voice. His name is a play on words, referencing the idiom "axe to grind." Tagrin was slated to reappear in a cancelled episode, where he would have taken over the Colossus.
