Azkul

Azkul, a seasoned Sith fighter from the Jedi Civil War era, transitioned into the role of a hired gun, working for the criminal organization known as the Exchange.

Biography

During the Jedi Civil War, Azkul fought under the command of Darth Malak as a Sith commando within an elite unit of Sith Special Forces. The conclusion of the war left many former soldiers—from both the Republic and the Sith—without employment. Finding themselves without homes to return to, many, including Azkul, chose the path of mercenary work. He traveled to Dantooine and began formulating a plan to overthrow the legitimate Republic government with his assembled mercenary force.

In 3951 BBY, the Exchange contracted him to eliminate Terena Adare, the Administrator of Khoonda, with the intention of exploiting Dantooine for their illicit operations. Unfortunately for Azkul and his hired soldiers, Meetra Surik and the Jedi Master Vrook Lamar were present on the planet. Azkul tasked a small squad to capture Vrook (who deliberately allowed his capture to discern the mercenaries' intentions), only for Surik and her companions to ambush the team. Upon Surik's emergence from the crystal cave, Azkul attempted to enlist her into his ranks. She declined, and the former Sith commando then deployed his forces against her, but they were also swiftly defeated.

At Khoonda, Surik and Vrook, through their combined efforts, successfully organized the settlers and established a stronger militia, repaired the dormant Battle droids and autoturrets (enhancing their damage output, accuracy, and durability to the maximum extent possible), and fortified the minefields surrounding the administration building, inflicting significant losses on the attackers. Additionally, Surik utilized her computer skills to reprogram the droids and turrets, changing their targeting parameters to engage only the attackers, thereby protecting the militia who would later participate in breaching Khoonda. Surik also secured the armory door, compelling Azkul to launch his attack through the main militia force. Azkul, alongside his second-in-command Dopak, and approximately eight to ten of his soldiers, survived to mount a final assault on the administration office. However, Dopak, who had long opposed Azkul's indiscriminate attacks on the settlers, switched sides and joined the defenders against him.

Ultimately, Azkul and his remaining attackers were vanquished.

Behind the scenes

Should Surik assist Azkul in his invasion of Khoonda, he later appears on Citadel Station, aiding the Telos Security Force in their battle against the Sith forces.

Surik also has the option to deceive Azkul into believing that she will aid him, an action that Kreia will commend. Mandalore the Preserver would caution about Azkul's ability to discern who to trust, drawing from his understanding of such individuals. Companions with a strong sense of justice will disapprove of this act, while Brianna will immediately reject joining Azkul, with her response being influence-related. This action will not cause a shift to the Dark Side, nor will it result in a Light Side shift.

Azkul's alignment score is 50 (neutral), which may reflect his mercenary status (PC version only).
