Battle droid remote

One design of remotes involved training droids that were built to mimic battle droids. These devices fired laser projectiles from their sensor and contained four concealed blasters. Many Jedi, including Padawan Ahsoka Tano, utilized these droids for training purposes as a component of an evaluation.

Training droids designed to replicate battle droids were the battle droid remotes. These battle droids comprised the primary forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. These spherical droids emitted yellow laser beams from their sensor, which could be deflected using a lightsaber. Moreover, the droids housed four additional blasters within their structure. They possessed the ability to levitate above the ground and exhibited rapid movement. Their exterior consisted of gray and brown plating, complemented by a green sensor.

History

Ahsoka Tano training with four battle droid remotes

Battle droid remotes were regarded as a relatively recent innovation around or following 21 BBY. During this time, all Jedi underwent training with these remotes as part of an assessment. Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano engaged in training with a quartet of these droids within the dojo of the Jedi Temple situated on the planet Coruscant, guided by Jedi Master Tera Sinube. Tano employed her lightsaber to redirect the droids' projectiles until the exercise concluded and they ascended. As Sinube generated a force field around Tano, the droids encircled her, revealing their concealed blasters. Sinube tapped his lightsaber on the field, initiating the exercise. While the force field diminished in size, Tano successfully deflected the droids' blasts, destroying two of them. She then performed an aerial flip and severed the remaining droids with her lightsaber. Subsequently, the force field dissipated, marking the end of the exercise. Afterward, Tano's master, Anakin Skywalker, commented that the assessment was subpar due to its universality among Jedi.
