The Battle of Abrion Bridge represents a conflict that transpired circa 22 BBY during the Clone Wars between the forces of the Galactic Republic and those of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This particular engagement is remembered for its intense bloodshed and the suffering it caused. Years afterward, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi reflected upon the events of this battle while enduring a sandstorm on the planet Tatooine, recalling his experiences there.
Prior to the destruction of Rishi Station, Master Kenobi and Commander Cody acquired intelligence concerning a clandestine Separatist weapons manufacturing facility situated beneath a granary complex located on Abrion Major. This factory was intended for the construction of the new Mega-ion cannon for Count Dooku and General Grievous. According to Admiral Yularen, the only avenue of approach lay across the bridge. Kenobi volunteered himself and the 212th battalion to spearhead the assault. The 212th was subsequently reinforced by Commander Mekedrix, Lieutenant Oron and his company.
Kenobi, Cody, and the 212th deployed to Abrion Major aboard multiple gunships. As they approached the weapons complex, the gunships encountered heavy artillery fire from the complex's defenses. Despite this, Kenobi, Cody, Mekedrix, and their respective forces successfully landed. Separatist forces then attempted to destroy the bridge. Kenobi went with Airo as he carried a banner to show the republic navy how far they could go. Kenobi and his troops were to find the ion cannon plans. Mekedrix and his forces then found themselves under attack from numerous IG-series units and Rogue-class fighters dispatched by the Banking Clan. The 212th became trapped.
Despite the significant losses incurred, Kenobi staunchly refused to abandon his troops on the bridge. Cody and his men followed Kenobi. Kenobi located Airo, but he died. Kenobi was then held at gunpoint by an IG unit until Mekedrix destroyed it. Subsequently, they both withdrew from the bridge, leaving behind a substantial number of casualties.
In the wake of the battle, Mekedrix continued his service to the Republic until his disappearance following the massacre at the Temple of Eedit on Devaron. He became a rogue element within the Death Wind Corridor.
The Battle of Abrion Bridge was originally conceived for Obi-Wan 3.
