The initial engagement of the Second Galactic Civil War was the Battle of Tralus. Masterminded by Admiral Vara Karathas, who led the Corellian Defense Force, and Wedge Antilles, the operation, dubbed Operation Noble Savage, aimed to obliterate the Galactic Alliance's foothold within the Corellian system while minimizing casualties.
Following the unsuccessful Operation Roundabout in demonstrating sufficient strength within the Corellian system, Admiral Matric Klauskin opted to seize and occupy the Corellian planet of Tralus in an attempt to salvage his reputation. However, this action was covertly influenced by the Sith and constituted a disproportionate response from the Galactic Alliance. This event ignited the fury of Corellia's inhabitants, escalating the crisis towards open warfare. With the assassination of Five World Prime Minister Aidel Saxan aboard Toryaz Station, diplomatic avenues to resolve the Tralus occupation were terminated. Consequently, Admirals Karathas and Antilles were tasked with removing the Galactic Alliance presence from Tralus.
Because standard combat on Tralus threatened excessive harm to civilians, Karathas initially planned to leverage the potential public relations disaster to their advantage. Commando teams were to infiltrate Rellidir to disable the deflector shield protecting the Navos Center for the Performing Arts, the GA's central command, though their success wasn't critical to the overall strategy. Subsequently, YT-5100 Shriek-class bomber would attack the shielded area, targeting the command post. Galactic Alliance starfighters would closely trail them. However, these "Alliance" fighters would actually be from the Corellian Defense Force, bolstering the bombers and shifting blame for civilian deaths onto the Galactic Alliance. Fortunately, Antilles proposed a significantly less destructive battle plan that was ultimately adopted.
Wedge Antilles, along with Han Solo in disguise as "Panther Flight," plunged into Tralus's atmosphere, navigated a Rellidir street, and breached the underground hangar of the Terkury Housing Complex, a structure shielded from above. Upon exiting the hangar and entering the shield, the two pilots were pursued by elements of the Second Fleet, under the leadership of Duros Admiral Tarla Limpan. Among the pursuing fighters was Wedge's daughter, Syal Antilles, piloting a newly deployed Aleph-class starfighter of the GA. Meanwhile, Leia Organa Solo, concerned, observed from the Galactic-class battle carrier Dodonna. Anxious for the safety of her husband and allies, she secretly contacted Han through a hidden datapad attached to his controls to ensure he would survive. Ironically, her own daughter, Jaina Solo, had taken command of Hardpoint Squadron and was stationed at the Rellidir beachhead.
Following an intense aerial engagement where Syal Antilles nearly succeeded in shooting down Han, the two Shriek-bomber pilots successfully deployed a payload of spotter droids, typically used for weapons training purposes. The droids' low-powered training lasers effectively created a breach in the shields. Subsequently, hundreds of missiles launched from the Corellian fleet in orbit rained down upon the Rellidir facility. Despite the valiant efforts of advanced Alliance starfighters, the facility was almost completely leveled.
As the citizens of Tralus emerged from their homes and joined their compatriots in attacking Alliance forces with civilian weapons, the Alliance forces were rapidly withdrawn.
