Blizz

Blizz, a Jawa of male gender, was a compatriot of the Grand Champion of the Great Hunt, a bounty hunter, during the era of the Cold War.

Biography

Like all Jawas, Blizz's origins trace back to Tatooine. However, his path diverged when he and his clan were enlisted by the traveling salvager Slam Streever to act as "ferrets"—individuals tasked with venturing into perilous zones to seek out valuable salvage. Streever bestowed upon the Jawa the moniker "Blizz" after he exhibited a miniature snowstorm of exhilaration upon his initial encounter with the "white sands" of the planet Hoth. While stationed on Hoth, Blizz and the salvage team were under the employ of the White Maw pirate Reneget Vause, until a fellow Jawa, Jreely Toomb, informed their supervisor that Blizz was covertly pilfering salvage beneath his cloak, resulting in Blizz's expulsion. He was later incarcerated by the Chiss Ascendancy at Dorn Base, from which he made repeated escapes.

During his confinement, Blizz lent his assistance to the Grand Champion of the Great Hunt in the pursuit of Reneget Vause, a bounty listed on the blacklist. As Vause deemed the Champion unworthy of combat, Blizz suggested that the Champion subdue Vause's captains to demonstrate their worth. Subsequently, the Hunter convinced Warden Khel to permit Blizz to join their ranks. With the aid of Mako, he successfully located Jreely and reclaimed the majority of his possessions by infiltrating the White Maw encampment and impersonating Jreely, as the pirates were unable to differentiate between them. Blizz also physically assaulted Jreely, thus conquering his apprehension of him.

During the Eternal Empire conquest circa 3636 BBY, the Champion vanished. In the ensuing five years of their absence, Blizz transitioned into an independent bounty hunter and scavenger, reuniting with Jreely and establishing his own Jawa-based crew. Five years following the Champion's disappearance, Blizz and his crew received a contractual offer from an individual identifying solely as a Jedi. Despite Blizz's reservations regarding his non-Jedi demeanor and frequent self-corrections, Blizz accepted the proposition to locate an antiquated holoprojector. During the search, White Maw pirates inflicted damage upon his "white-sand crawler." While engaged in repairs, the Outlander approached Blizz, seeking to recruit him into their Alliance against the Eternal Throne. Blizz consented to assist, contingent upon the Outlander's aid with his crawler and his mission. Following the Outlander's assistance with repairs, they assembled a Jawa team to procure the holoprojector from the "Ug-men." Blizz and the Outlander successfully retrieved the holoprojector, which Blizz subsequently dispatched to the "Jedi-man." Subsequently, Blizz and his crew journeyed to Odessen to enlist in the Outlander's Alliance.

Blizz later overheard a conversation between the Outlander and the Voss Mystic [Sana-Rae) concerning a vision the latter had experienced, depicting a Force-sensitive individual matching the description of the "Jedi-man". He then accompanied the Outlander to rendezvous with the "Jedi-man" on Nar Shaddaa—who was ultimately revealed to be Languss "Guss" Tuno, a former Jedi Padawan. While the Outlander accompanied Guss in order to assist him in completing a trial assigned by his master, Isaac, Blizz aided Isaac in repairing his ice box, for which he was compensated with alcohol, resulting in a state of inebriation. Upon Guss and the Outlander's return in search of Isaac, a drunken Blizz escorted them to meet him at the Slippery Slopes Cantina, where he proceeded to observe the performance of the South Sector Boppers while Isaac and the Outlander deliberated over the trial and extended an invitation for Guss to join the Alliance.

Personality and traits

His weapon of choice was a blaster pistol, supplemented by a deflector shield for defensive purposes and a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher for enhanced offensive capabilities. Blizz harbored a fondness for embarking on adventures, cultivating new friendships, and commanding attention. He possessed an aversion to violence and unkind individuals.

Behind the scenes

Blizz functions as a companion character for the bounty hunter class within Star Wars: The Old Republic. He later becomes accessible to all classes during the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion, where he can optionally be recruited during the Alliance Alert mission, "Little Boss". Should he be recruited, he will reappear during the Alliance Alert mission, "Shining in the Darkness", where the player can recruit his employer, who is revealed to be Guss Tuno, a companion character originally for the Smuggler class.
