Candace

Formerly known as TK-90210 during her service to the Galactic Empire, Candace was a female human hailing from the desert planet of Tatooine. Not long after the birth of her brother, Phineas Flynn, Candace enlisted in the Empire as a stormtrooper.

In the year 0 BBY, Darth Vader needed new socks, so her commanding officer dispatched her, along with Baljeet and Buford, to acquire them. However, she became sidetracked and made the decision to track R2-D2 and C-3PO to the planet of Tatooine. Later, she encountered her commanding officer again, who reminded her of her original assignment. She proceeded to Mos Eisley and purchased a fresh pair of socks at the clothing establishment known as Tall Darth & Handsome. Upon exiting the store, Candace witnessed two boys unveiling the Death Star plans. Candace then attempted to apprehend the two individuals, but they successfully escaped aboard the starship Centennial Chihuahua. After her failed capture, Candace, Baljeet, and Buford convened with the commanding officer to deliver the socks. Unbeknownst to them, Buford had inadvertently swapped the bag containing the socks with his bantha cheese hoagie; they only discovered this error after departing Tatooine and returning to DS-1 Death Star Mobile Battle Station.

Following a reunion with her brothers, she abandoned the Empire and aligned herself with the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Biography

Early life

Sometime before 0 BBY, Candace, a female human, lived on the desert planet Tatooine with her mother, Linda Flynn-Fletcher, and father. Shortly after the birth of her younger brother, Phineas Flynn, she left her family to become a stormtrooper in the service of the Galactic Empire.

Unrecognized potential

Candace, Baljeet, and Buford on Tantive IV.

In the year 0 BBY, Candace, along with her comrades Baljeet and Buford, found themselves aboard the Tantive IV, pursuing the Rebels. However, their mission was interrupted by her commanding officer, who issued a new order: to procure a fresh pair of socks for [Darth Vader](/article/anakin_skywalker]. She reluctantly complied. While traversing the ship's corridor, she spotted someone accompanied by an astromech droid and rushed to report her discovery. Regrettably, her commanding officer dismissed her findings and instructed Candace to complete her assigned task. Upon returning to Baljeet and Buford, who were observing the mysterious individual, she found that the person had vanished. Instead, she noticed two droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, entering an escape pod in an attempt to flee. Candace, accompanied by Buford and Baljeet, pursued the droids by entering another escape pod.

To Candace's dismay, the trio of stormtroopers landed on Tatooine. They disembarked and began their trek through the expansive desert. To alleviate the boredom, they engaged in casual conversation. When asked about her reasons for joining the Empire, Candace launched into a pro-Imperial propaganda song to reiterate her motivations, highlighting the work benefits and opportunities provided by the Empire. Later, they encountered Candace's commanding officer, who was also searching for the droids and the missing Death Star plans, which piqued Candace's interest. However, her commanding officer reminded the three stormtroopers of their primary objective and dismissed them.

Missing plans

Subsequently, they journeyed to Mos Eisley and acquired a new pair of socks from Tall Darth & Handsome, a store renowned for its sock promotions and discounts. As Candace exited the store, carrying the socks in a small bag, she encountered Buford and Baljeet, who had purchased a bantha cheese hoagie. Across the street, the three stormtroopers observed two humans, Flynn and Fletcher, in possession of the Death Star plans. Candace yelled at them, alerting the brothers, who promptly fled. Candace urged her companions to pursue the brothers, but Buford accidentally discharged his blaster, causing a nearby ronto to rampage toward them, separating the young stormtroopers from their targets.

Shortly thereafter, Candace spotted her targets at a spaceport, accompanied by a new acquaintance, Isabella, who was assisting in their escape. Candace fired her blaster, but missed, prompting the brothers and the pilot to board a starship, the Centennial Chihuahua.

Personality and traits

Candace was a human female characterized by long orange hair, fair skin, and dark blue eyes. She possessed a strong will and a courageous spirit, often irritating her commanding officer due to her persistent insistence on doing what was right. However, her determination sometimes led to misguided and reckless behavior. Beneath her stormtrooper exterior (at least during her time with the Galactic Empire) lay a sense of empathy, which shone brightest when Phineas selflessly saved her from falling off a ledge. Phineas's act of selflessness, despite being a Rebel himself, inspired Candace, along with her fellow stormtroopers Buford and Baljeet, to strive for improvement.

Behind the scenes

Candace made her debut in Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars, a non-canon crossover special that premiered on July 26, 2014. The character's design and personality were inspired by her counterpart of the same name from the Disney Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb. As in the main series, Candace was voiced by Ashley Tisdale.

The 5-digit numbers in Candace's designation were derived from Dan Povenmire's zip code for fan mail, 90210.
