Cole Cantarus was a male Human who resided on Corellia during the period when the Sith Empire gained control of the planet.
Following the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, Cole spent his early years as a homeless youth on his native planet, associating with local criminal groups and frequently encountering the law. At the age of sixteen, he was incarcerated in a juvenile correctional facility, where he reformed his life. Two years later, he enlisted with CorSec - the Corellian law enforcement agency - where he leveraged his street smarts to amass an impressive record of arrests.
As a reward for his service, Cole was reassigned to the CorSec unit responsible for safeguarding the members of the Corellian Council, eventually earning a promotion to the rank of captain. The government's decision to cede Corellia to the Empire was a particularly devastating blow to Cole. However, instead of succumbing to despair, Cole channeled his anger into a constructive endeavor, assisting in the organization of the Corellian resistance movement.
During the Republic's counter-offensive to reclaim the planet, Cantarus and Gosse, a Selonian rebel, were captured by Imperial forces and imprisoned within an Imperial-controlled CorSec facility located in the nearby Entertainment Plaza. They were subsequently rescued by a Republic hero who stormed the building. After reuniting with General Aves at the Gilded Descent Casino, he and Cantarus were contacted by Councilor Belos, one of the Council members who had aided the Empire in the invasion. Belos professed to have experienced a change of heart, but Cantarus refused to condone his actions that had resulted in the occupation.
Cantarus returned to his previous post - the Council Guardhouse in the Government District, where Belos informed him that the Empire had a surprise planned for the Republic: the Ion Wall. Belos provided Cantarus with information regarding the locations of the Ion Wall's emitters at the Intra-Corellian Intelligence, and Cantarus dispatched the Republic hero to destroy them. As the Republic launched a final assault to retake the Legislature building, Cantarus joined forces with the hero to confront Darth Hadra. Following her defeat, Cantarus asserted CorSec's authority to apprehend all surviving Council members, including Belos. However, the Republic hero opted to release Belos, much to Cantarus's disapproval. After the defeat of Darth Decimus, General Aves and Cantarus offered their congratulations to the Republic hero for their victory on Corellia.
The retaking of his homeworld would not mark the end of Cantarus's involvement in the war, as he directly participated in the subsequent Battle of Ilum. After Darth Malgus defected from the Empire, Cantarus piloted a Republic strike team to Fort Barrow, where they recovered Darth Serevin's stealth shuttle, which contained coordinates for the Emperor's Fortress. Surviving a dogfight against Serevin himself, Cantarus piloted the stolen shuttle to the space station, where the Republic strike team ultimately defeated Malgus.
