Conscription trooper pilot

Conscripted soldiers serving as pilots for the Galactic Empire during the early years of the Imperial Era were known as conscription trooper pilots. These pilots preceded the Imperial Starfighter Pilots who would later be utilized by the Empire.

Equipment

Pilots who were conscription troopers wore TK stormtrooper armor equipped with life support gear and air hoses connected to the filtration system within their helmets.

History

Around 18 BBY, a conscription trooper pilot operated a Nu-class attack/transport shuttle, designated Shuttle 135, on the planet Wayland to transport a squad of TK stormtroopers to Tantiss Base situated on Mount Tantiss. As the shuttle neared the Imperial facility, a lightning strike from a nearby storm caused system failure. The pilot successfully crash-landed the shuttle in the jungle surrounding Tantiss, opened the ramp for the passengers, and then exited the cockpit. One of the stormtroopers attempted to contact backup using his comlink, but a dryax attacked the Imperials, resulting in the deaths of both the pilot and the stormtroopers.

Months later, Doctor Royce Hemlock commanded several conscription trooper pilots flying V-wing starfighters to eliminate the renegade clones Omega and Crosshair, who were escaping Mount Tantiss aboard a stolen Rho-class transport shuttle. Upon learning that the clone Omega's blood was crucial to a clandestine Imperial project, Hemlock instructed the pilots to cease their pursuit.
