As a prisoner held by the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War, an alien was given the designation "Convict 2317". This inmate was confined within the Accresker Jail wreckage-prison. This particular prisoner was part of the Accresker Penal Legion of the prison, and was deployed with their squad onto a Rebel Alliance EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate. During combat on the vessel, Convict 2317 fell behind their squad because of a problem with their foot. Because the distance between them and their hubdroid exceeded ten meters, the implanted proximity bomb was triggered, resulting in the inmate's demise via explosion.
In the time of the Galactic Civil War that pitted the Galactic Empire against the Rebel Alliance, the Empire imprisoned a green-eyeed alien with gray skin within the Accresker Jail wreckage-prison. Given the designation "Convict 2317," this individual was a member of the Accresker Penal Legion, the convict military force of the prison, serving as part of a squad. They had a proximity bomb surgically implanted, ensuring they remained within ten meters of their squad's assigned hubdroid. Approximately around 3 ABY, 2317 and their squad were deployed on a EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate belonging to the rebels. This vessel had been crippled in a previous fleet engagement, and the convict legion from Accresker was tasked with clearing the ship of any remaining resistance.
Upon boarding the frigate of the rebel forces, the squad that Convict 2317 was a part of initiated an attack on the defending rebel troopers. However, 2317 experienced an issue with their foot, causing them to fall behind the rest of the squad and exceed the ten-meter limit from the hubdroid. As the droid detected the issue and issued a warning to the inmate, they stated that it was due to their foot and promised to catch up. The hubdroid, however, was insistent that they only advance, and Convict 2317's proximity bomb began to flash. The inmate let out a cry as they exploded into a fireball, while the rest of their squad continued moving forward, past the explosion.
Convict 2317 made an appearance in the twentieth issue of the Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comic series from 2016, which was written by Si Spurrier, illustrated by Kev Walker, and published by Marvel Comics on May 23, 2018.
