The scalefin fish known as coppergrins constituted a species characterized by their copper coloration and black eyed. These creatures inhabited the oceans of the planets Corellia and Ahch-To. On Ahch-To, the Lanai captured these fish, while in Coronet City on Corellia, they were available for purchase in the local fishmarkets.
Around 34 ABY, the Lanai Caretakers displayed four coppergrins, suspending them on a drying rack situated in the Jedi village located on Ahch-To. During this time, the Jedi Rey discharged a blaster, sending a shot through the wall of the village hut in which she was residing.
The initial appearance of coppergrins occurred in the 2017 motion picture Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. Subsequently, they were identified in the 2018 reference work Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
