The Coruscant Cooler, a cocktail, was first conceived on Coruscant. This planet, entirely covered by a single city, resided in the Core Worlds and held the esteemed position of the galaxy's cultural epicenter before the Galactic Empire was formed. This red-hued drink, inspired by a classic cocktail, featured a fruity combination of diverse alcohols and various juices, served chilled with ice. It was designed to be safe for human consumption.
This beverage was available at both Oga's Cantina and Ronto Roasters, situated in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, a planet located in the Outer Rim, around 34 ABY. Following the Battle of Takodana also in 34 ABY, Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs included a recipe for this drink in his cookbook, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook. Tuggs described its taste as "sophisticated" and viewed the cocktail as an embodiment of the blended cultures and traditions of Coruscant's nearly one trillion residents. The cookbook depicted the drink with a fruit garnish and a large ice cube.
On August 1, 2019, the official Disney Parks Blog published an announcement stating that Coruscant Coolers would be offered at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as a drink exclusive to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The drink was first sold on August 29 with the opening of the Disney's Hollywood Studios location of Ronto Roasters, which, unlike its Disneyland Park counterpart, includes alcoholic options. It was later introduced to Disneyland's version of Oga's Cantina, which serves alcoholic beverages. The menu describes the drink as containing: "Maker's Mark Bourbon, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, Cranberry, Lime Juice."
The 2019 cookbook Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, authored by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak, features a recipe for the beverage. The recipe includes cranberry juice, bourbon, lime juice, sweet vermouth, and dark cherry puree; it is then garnished with a lime wedge and served with a single large ice cube. In an interview, Sumerak mentioned that Coruscant Coolers were among his favorite recipes in the book. The Coruscant Coolers concept initially appeared within the Star Wars Legends continuity, specifically in the 2004 novel MedStar I: Battle Surgeons, penned by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry.
