The offspring of Lynnta, who was the wife of the civilian Corwin Ballast, lived in the city of Maborn on the world Mordal during the era of the Galactic Civil War. During the year 4 ABY, she found herself trapped amidst a heated firefight that erupted in Maborn between the rebels and the Imperial forces; the parents could not rescue her. Following the deaths of his daughter and Lynnta, a sorrowful Ballast journeyed to the Inner Rim planet Jakku, carrying a photograph of his family inside his boot as a memento.

At the time of the Galactic Civil War, Lynnta and the civilian Corwin Ballast welcomed a daughter into their lives. The child and parents made their home on the world of Mordal, specifically within the confines of the city known as Maborn. During 4 ABY, a firefight erupted in Maborn, pitting the rebels against the Imperial forces, and she was pinned down. Her parents attempted a rescue from the conflict zone, but they were struck down by blaster fire before they could reach her. Ballast recovered from his wounds several weeks following the clash, only to discover that his daughter and wife had died and had been buried.
Overcome with grief, Ballast cherished a photo of his family, keeping it tucked inside his boot as a reminder of them. He departed Mordal, making his way to the Inner Rim planet of Jakku, a place he deemed remote enough to remain untouched by war. While at Ergel's Bar, a drinking establishment on Jakku, Ballast confided in Ergel, the bartender, that he had sought refuge on the barren world for the sake of his family, hoping to escape the ongoing conflict. Although the memory of his daughter and wife's passing briefly resurfaced, he regained his composure and continued his conversation with Ergel.
A flashback featuring Corwin Ballast's daughter was included in Aftermath, a 2015 novel penned by Chuck Wendig, which served as the inaugural installment in the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.
