Dalné

Dalné was a female human born circa 19 BBY, who held the position of Monarch of Naboo in 3 BBY. While previous kings and queens wielded actual power, Dalné's function was largely symbolic, as Naboo's affairs were now managed by Emperor Palpatine's appointed governor, Moff Quarsh Panaka. The queen resented this situation, but lacked the authority to challenge or change it. She was about the same age as Princess Leia Organa from Alderaan, who paid her a visit in 3 BBY. Feeling powerless and unable to govern effectively, Dalné eagerly accepted Organa's offer to join her on a relief mission to distribute essential resources, seeing it as a chance to contribute meaningfully.

Upon discovering the corruption and mistreatment endured by the miners, the two women decided to confront Panaka, hoping to persuade him to take action. The queen provided Organa with a Naboo jubilation dress from her personal collection to replace her soot-covered attire. Although Dalné doubted Panaka's willingness to listen, she was surprised and pleased when he did, and even more so when he started asking Organa very specific questions about her birth parents. Unbeknownst to both women, Panaka had recognized Organa's resemblance to Padmé Amidala, one of Dalné's predecessors and Organa's biological mother. He intended to share his suspicions with the Emperor.

Subsequently, both women witnessed the assassination of Panaka by the Partisans, narrowly escaping death when the Moff's chalet was destroyed by a bomb. Despite being deeply disturbed by Panaka's murder, Organa urged Dalné to seize the opportunity, before another Imperial governor was appointed, to implement measures protecting the miners on Naboo's moon, Onoam. Although the young queen had doubts about her chances of success, she was determined to make a strong effort.
