Denta bean

Denta beans constituted a foodstuff that humans could consume. On the planet of Naboo, they served as a primary component in the creation of denta bean buns, while on Coruscant a beverage made from them enjoyed widespread popularity.

The crew aboard the transport starship Vessel undertook a mission to transport crates filled with denta beans to Coruscant during 232 BBY. The sheer quantity of crates presented a navigational challenge for Geode, the ship's navigator, as he maneuvered through the vessel's corridors. In 32 BBY, the culinary team at the Theed Royal Palace on Naboo incorporated denta beans into their baking to produce a batch of denta bean buns. Later, in 3 ABY, Torro Sbazzle, the Executive Chef at the tibanna gas mining colony of Cloud City, collaborated with her sous-chef, Gersolik, to concoct a denta bean beverage intended for Darth Vader, the Imperial Sith Lord.

The initial mention of denta beans within the official Star Wars canon occurred in E. K. Johnston's young-adult novel, Queen's Peril, published in 2020. According to Johnston's account, the original draft of the novel depicted Captain Quarsh Panaka consuming red bean buns, rather than denta bean buns. However, the Lucasfilm Story Group suggested that Johnston make the meal "more Star Wars-y," prompting her to consult Wookieepedia, the collaboratively edited, unofficial online encyclopedia dedicated to Star Wars, in search of franchise-specific beans.

Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the earliest reference to denta beans appeared in the "Galaxywide NewsNets" segment of the Star Wars Adventure Journal's third issue, released in August of 1994. They were fully realized in Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a 2003 massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Sony Online Entertainment.
