The DLT-19D saw action with certain death troopers serving the Galactic Empire, specifically within Director Orson Callan Krennic's personal guard squadron. During the capture of Galen Erso in 13 BBY, several troopers involved utilized this blaster. A DLT-19D was used by a death trooper to fatally wound Lyra Erso. During the Battle of Scarif in 0 BBY, Krennic's guards continued its deployment as a heavy blaster rifle. Chirrut Îmwe was killed and Baze Malbus was injured by a shot from a DLT-19D.
Years afterward, the First Order also employed the DLT-19D, equipping their Specialist stormtroopers with a version maintaining the original color scheme. Furthermore, weapons used by the 709th Legion incorporated white accents, consistent with the design of most First Order Army firearms.
